The St Elmo Cafe & Restaurant at 120 North Seventh Street was a popular eatery for decades. It was established in the early 1900s, before World War I, serving short order meals with beer. It was open for decades under a series of owners, finally closing in 1965 when the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), revoked its license to sell beer after a series of underage sales.
The property was torn down in the 1980s for a parking lot.
