The St. Peter and St. Paul Rocks Ecoregion is a designated ecoregion by WWF and One Earth. It is classified as a Deserts & Xeric Shrublands Biome. It is one of 12 ecoregions in the Brazilian Atlantic Moist Forests Bioregion.
The islands are located over 800km from the Brazilian coast. There is little vegetation on these rocky islands; only fungi and algae inhabit the surface. There is however a rich marine life. Additionally, there are sea birds colonies.
