English: The Stele Forest, Chinese Bei Lin (as opposed to Ta Lin, "Tower Forest") sometimes translated as "Stele Corridor," is a memorial area analogous to the Pagoda Forest. The pagodas commemorate resident monks and masters. The steles commemorate monks and masters abroad. The corridor is the first area encountered north of Mountain Gate. It runs north to the Hall of Heavenly Kings, but many are located north of there. The space is commemorative rather than utilitarian. The work access roads are parallel to the right and to the left.
