English: The Sodium Reactor Experiment—SRE — a former (1957—1964) nuclear research reactor and small nuclear power plant in Ventura County, Southern California.
- Located in Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) in the Simi Hills, on Burro Flats above the Simi Valley.
- Site of a significant nuclear meltdown in 1959, and other nuclear power plant accidents through the early 1960s.
- Part of present day SSFL Superfund site, for nuclear and chemical soil and groundwater contamination cleanup by DOE-Boeing.
