Anchors deliberately made with but a single fluke. Rond anchors (a type of anchor for anchoring to dry land) often have only one fluke; you drive them in with a mallet or by standing on them, so there is little chance that they will tip over and fail to set unnoticed. Some mooring anchors also have only one fluke, so that they don't become sunkers when the tide falls.
