English: The entrance to which the name refers is the North Entrance to the scenic spot. The statue is visible to visitors getting off the bus from Luoyang or Zhengzhou on G207. The visitor center is nearby. The entrance to the traditional Shaolin Monastery is further south along the river. The statue is of a person in monkish attire holding a fist against an open hand. Whether this represents a monk or a master is entirely speculative. The gesture, termed "the Ming Gesture," is an ancient greeting among the Kung Fu participants.
