English: The Bell and Drum Towers are two nearly identical towers within the monastery compound, pagoda style (not to be confused with the memorial pagodas of Pagoda or Tower Forest outside the compound). They are so called because the Bell Tower rings a bell at sunrise, and the drum tower rolls a drum at sunset. The "bell" is on the E, the "drum" is on the W. Tourist media rarely identify which is which. The coordinates given in the pictures are either the camera locations (not the tower locations) or a general central location of the enclosure. The towers can be discriminated by the detail, here the spire at the top of the pointed roof. "Bell" has stacked cushions of various widths. "Drum" has a stack of regularly increasing widths top to bottom. In cases of invisible tops the medium is placed in the general category along with the bronze tourist plaque.
