English: The Shafer Museum is a local history museum in Winthrop, Washington, centered on "The Castle" (Guy Waring's large cabin, which is on the National Register of Historic Places). Simeon Shafer purchased the cabin and grounds, and also obtained and transported several other historic buildings to the site. These buildings plus Shafer's large collection of objects of local historical interest (most of them related to mining, farming, or the timber industry) continue to form the corer of the museum's collection.
