The Seventh Street Barbecue opened as a restaurant located at 1065 North Seventh Street, just north of the Sumner Avenue bridge. Opened in 1930 as a roadhouse just north of the Allentown city limits, In the late 1930s and early 40s, it evolved into a combination restaurant and nightclub. In 1942 the restaurant name was changed to Dubnow's. The restaurant closed in early 1946 after the family chose to enter another business. Its facilities and equipment were sold at auction.
