English: Seattle Post building, built 1881 by John Leary, who purchased the property from Henry Yesler that same year; after a merger, it was the first home of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and also housed and bank, liquor store and several law offices, including Leary's firm, Struve Haines & Leary. The building was reduced to a burnt shell in the Great Seattle Fire of 1889. After the fire Leary, who chose to rebuild on the burgeoning Second Avenue instead, sold the lot to Portland brewery owner Louis Feurer, who started construction on a 5-story building designed by Elmer Fisher that was never completed above the ground floor. It was later remodeled and incorporated into the Mutual Life Building. 92 Yesler Way is the modern address of the site.
