Sea Control Squadron 24 (VS-24) were several aviation units of the United States Navy. History:
1 January 1943: established as Bombing Squadron 17 (VB-17);
15 November 1946: redesignated Attack Squadron 5B (VA-5B);
27 July 1948: redesignated VA-64;
8 April 1949: redesignated Composite Squadron 24 (VC-24) "Duty Cats";
20 April 1950: redesignated Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 24 (VS-24);
1 June 1956: disestablished.
8 April 1960: established as VS-24 "Duty Cats", renamed "Scouts" ca. 1975;
1 October 1993: redesignated Sea Control Squadron 24 (VS-24);
31 March 2007: disestablished.
