The Vasa palaces and gardens were adorned with sculptures that had been procured by royal sculptors or purchased in Florence, including and a large collection of ancient sculptures. Others had been produced in Prague by Adrien de Vries. According to Adam Jarzębski, they had included a Hercules Fighting the Centaur Nessus and a Horse Bitten by a Snake. Post-mortem inventory of Queen Marie Louise includes a bronze equestrian statue of Charles Gonzaga, 2 marble tables, an ivory statue of two gladiators and a crucifix of marble.
