English: Samuel Kirk & Son was an American silversmith firm established in 1815 in Baltimore by Samuel Kirk (born in February 1793 in Doylestown, Philadelphia and passed away in July 1872, Baltimore, Maryland). In 1846, the Samuel Kirk's eldest son, Henry Child Kirk joined the firm; in 1861 and 1863, respectively, two more sons, Charles Douglas Kirk and Edwin Clarence Kirk, were admitted as partners, and the firm's name was changed to Samuel Kirk & Sons. Kirk was known for re-introduction of the so-called Repousse decorative technique. His clients included Maria Hester Monroe, the daughter of President James Monroe, General Lafayette, the Carrolls and the Ellicotts of Baltimore, the Roosevelts and the Ridgelys of New York, among others. In 1979 firm merged with another Baltimore silver and pewter manufacturer to form The Kirk Stieff Company.
