English: The Alfred & Tekla Hess Collection or Hess Collection had been an important collection of modern art which focussed on artworks of the German Expressionism. The collection was put together from the end of WWI to the end of 1931 by the German industrialist Alfred Hess (1879–1931) and his wife Tekla Hess (1884–1968) in their villa in Erfurt, Germany. The art collection consisted of more than 4,000 pieces, paintings, graphics, watercolors, drawings, woodcuts and sculptures.
Deutsch: Die Sammlung Alfred & Thekla Hess bzw. Sammlung Hess war eine bedeutende Privatsammlung der Moderne, die insbesondere Kunstwerke des deutschen Expressionismus beinhaltete. Die Sammlung wurde durch den deutschen Industriellen Alfred Hess (1879–1931) und dessen Ehefrau Thekla Hess (1884–1968) nach dem Ende des Ersten Weltkrieges bis zum vorzeitigen Tod des Ehemanns Ende 1931 zusammengestellt und bestand aus mehr als 4000 Werken, Gemälden, Grafiken, Aquarellen, Zeichnungen, Holzschnitten und Plastiken.
