English: Douglas SBD-2 Dauntless, Douglas El Segundo s/n 628/714, U.S. Navy Bureau Number 2106: It was delivered in 1940 to Bombing Squadron 2 (VB-2) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington (CV-2) and survived the Attack on Pearl Harbor at Naval Air Station Ford Island. It sank a Japanese warship on 10 March 1942. In April 1942 it was transferred to Marine Scout-Bombing Squadron 241 (VMSB-241) and participated in the Battle of Midway when VMSB-241 attacked the Japanese aircraft carrier Hiryū. It was then transferred to training duties at NAS Glenview, Illinois (USA) and crashed into Lake Michigan on 11 June 1943 while attempting to land aboard the training carrier USS Sable (IX-81). It was raised on 12 January 1994. Restored, it is now on display at the National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola, Florida (USA).
