This chapel was built in 1882 for Congregationalists. Along with most other Congregational churches in England and Wales, it joined the United Reformed Church in 1972 (as part of District F (Sussex: East) of Province XI (Southern): see The United Reformed Church First General Assembly Agenda and Reports (1972), p. 45) but closed the following year. It is now a community centre.
