English: This street is named after Bernardo de Passos (Born 1876 in São Brás de Alportel - Died 1930). He was a Portuguese poet and man of words who had a strong lyrical bent. Following the formation of the Portuguese republic in 1905 he was given the positions of County Administrator of Faro and, a position he held until his death. He was also Secretary of the City Council. He also Collaborated in various periodicals, as exemplified by the II series of the Algarve magazine New Soul (1915-1918).
