English: Rockville station was built in 1873 by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in Rockville, Maryland. The station building was designed by Ephraim Francis Baldwin. Construction of a modern station for Amtrak, state-operated MARC commuter trains, and the new Washington Metro system began in 1981. The 1873 building was moved slightly to the south in 1981 to make room for the new station, which opened in 1984.
