English: Rixö is a small village Lysekil Municipality, Sweden. The settlement grew up around the granite quarry and stonemasonry industry in the shore of Brofjorden. The industry was started on a German initiative and was run by Skandinaviska Granit AB in 1875-1964. Most of the stone was exported to Germany for the building of Autobahn; some went to Arginine and to various constructions in Sweden. As of 2018, only a small part of the quarry is in operation.
Svenska: Rixö är ett mindre samhälle vid Brofjorden i Lysekils kommun. Bebyggelsen växte upp kring granitbrottet och stenhuggeriet där. Verksamheten startades på tyskt initiativ och drevs av Skandinaviska Granit AB 1875-1964. Det mesta av stenen gick på export främst till Tyskland för byggandet av Autobahn, men även till Argentina och byggnationer i Sverige. 2018 är endast en mindre del av stenbrottet igång. ([1])
