English: The Rhine River Patrol was a unit of the United States Navy from 1949 to 1958. It was headquartered at Schierstein, Germany, and was tasked with patrolling the Rhine river traffic and to provide bridging equipment and ferrys to cross the Rhine in case of war. Its tasks were taken over by the German Bundeswehr in 1958.
