English: Horse race courses have an area where the horses can be saddled and get final preparation for a race. Usually these areas contain individual standing stalls adjacent to a walking ring; the area is often collectively called a "paddock" or "saddling paddock," even if the stalls and walking ring area are somewhat separated. Once horses are prepared, the jockeys are allowed to mount up (usually announced by the call "riders up" in the USA) and upon the call to the post, the horses leave the paddock for the track
