English: Routemaster bus RML2588 (reg. JJD 588D) Monarch of Mayfair, was delivered to London Transport in October 1966. As with all RML buses, in the early 1990s it was re-engined (Cummins) and refurbished. It saw continual use in London into the privatisation era, passing in 1994 into the fleet of Leaside Buses (which later became Arriva London North). Latterly operated on route 73, it was finally withdrawn in September 2004 when that route lost its Routemasters, and placed into storage. In October 2005 it was sold to dealer Ensignbus, who then sold it in September 2006 to the private hire firm London Heritage Travel, who named it Monarch of Mayfair.
