English: Routemaster bus RML2446 (reg. JJD 446D) was delivered to London Transport in April 1966, in the dark green livery for use in the outlying 'Country Division' garages. It worked from Windsor garage before moving to Northfleet from 1968. In January 1970 it passed to the newly created London Country Bus Services when the country area was passed from London Transport to the National Bus Company, who eventually repainted it into their lighter shade, corporate NBC, green. In October 1978 it was downgraded to a training bus, before being briefly reinstated on route 480 from October 1979 to February 1980. Along with the RMC and RCL coaches, in March 1980 it was one of several vehicles bought back by London Transport. Before the move, still in NBC green, on 1 March 1980 it participated in the Routemaster farewell tours on country routes 403, 477 & 480. LT overhauled it an painted it red, returning to service in June 1980. As with all RML buses, in the early 1990s it was re-engined (Cummins) and refurbished. It saw continual use in London into the privatisation era, passing in 1994 into the fleet of Metroline, who used it on route 6 and route route 98 until final withdrawal in March 2004, whereupon it immediately passed into preservation.
