Mr J. Leo Mason of Queensland Railways undertook a three month study tour of Canadian and American rail systems in 1929-30. Mr Mason was a highly regarded Station Master and member of the Queensland Railway Ambulance Corps. His was the first such overseas study tour and his report post tour was well received.
