English: Property markers dating back to the British period can be found in a number of rural areas around Malta. They were meant to distinguish private property from government property so as to avoid disputes. They can be found with the inscriptions V.R. (Victoria Regina) or G.R. (Georges Rex) for government property, or P.P. (Proprietas Privata) for private property.
