Category:Privileg Vierspur nt400
The Privileg Vierspur nt400 was a rebadged (and probably stripped-down) Telefunken recorder, model 501 or similar, made for the Quelle mail-order company.
The TFK 501 (photo) was a low-end four-track mono model, built on a molded plastic chassis. Externally, the five-in-line transport control keyboard is different from the typical TFK four-plus-one layout. Inside, the bizarre trapezoidal head subchassis is unique to model 501. Another unique feature of model 501 was its analogue tape counter, with a long dial placed on the front panel (more in German [1]). It is not included in the Privileg variant although the molded chassis still has the required mounting posts. The rest of the transport - motor, pulley and belt arrangement - is similar to other budget TFKs of the period.
