The Postal Telegraph Building at 253 Broadway on the corner of Murray Street in the Trbeca neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1892-94 for a competitor of Western Union, and was designed by Harding & Gooch in the Neoclassical style. In 1947, the Home Life Insurance Company, which owned the Home Life Insurance Company Building next door at 256-57 Broadway, purchased the Postal Telegraph Building as an annex and consolidated them together internally. The two-building complex was designated a NYC landmark in 1991. (Source: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.) and AIA Guide to NYC (4th ed.))
