Deutsch: Pontypool (Wal. Pont-y-pŵl) ist eine Stadt mit ungefähr 37.000 Einwohnern in walisischen County Borough Torfaen (Unitary Authority). Die Stadt ist eine ehemalige Industriestadt, in der es sowohl eine große Kohlebergbau- als auch Stahl-Tradition gab als auch kunsthandwerkliche mit Japanlack arbeitende Betriebe. Nach der Krise der walisischen Industrie erholt sich die Stadt langsam und wird zur Schlafstadt für die benachbarten Cwmbran und Newport.

English: Pontypool is a town of approximately 36,000 people in the county borough of Torfaen, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire in South Wales.
