Español: Obuses de bronce. Modelo "Plasencia" (1885/91) de 21cm. Procedem del desmantelamiento de la Bateria del Rio. Este tipo de obus fue diseñado por el Teniente Coronel D. Augusto Plasencia con la finalidad de proporcionar a la artillería de plaza y sitio de una pieza moderna. Se fabricaron un total de 88 piezas en la Fundición de Artillería de Sivilla, de las cuales cuatro se enviaron a Lanzarote, que fueron emplazadas en la Bateria del Rio, la cual contaba ademas con dos morteros. Ese puesto de artillería fue desmantelado tras finaliser la II Guerra Mundial, trasladándose al Castillo de San Gabriel estos dos obuses con la finalidad de su conservación. Las piezas expuestas poseen las siguientes características:
  • Peso (incluida la cureña): 3.000 kgrs
  • Cureña de ruedas del tipo "Lerdo-Milan"
  • Calibre: 21 cms
  • Numero de estrias: 50
  • Alcance del proyectil: 6.850m
  • Peso del proyectil: 78'8kgrs
English: Bronze howitzers. Model "Plasencia" (1885/91) of 21cm. It comes from the dismantling of the Battery of the River. This type of howitzer was designed by Lieutenant Colonel D. Augusto Plasencia with the purpose of providing the square and site artillery with a modern piece. A total of 88 pieces were manufactured in the Sivilla Artillery Foundry, of which four were sent to Lanzarote, which were located in the Bateria del Rio, which also had two mortars. That artillery post was dismantled after the end of World War II, moving these two howitzers to the Castillo de San Gabriel for the purpose of their conservation. The exhibits have the following characteristics:
