Queensland's Pikedale soldier settlement (1917) placed more than seven hundred returned soldiers on allotments in the parish of Pikedale in Stanthorpe Shire.
The settlement eventually included the localities of Amiens, Messines, Bapaume, Passchendaele, Bullecourt, Pozieres and Fleurbaix, named by soldiers after World War I battlefields.[1]
