English: Pierre-à-évier In Calvados,In the XVIIe century and may be before, a number of houses were equipped with stone sinks which allowed used water to flow out into the streets. The outer parts of these sinks are still jutting out of some old houses walls.The sinks were usually destroyed when comfort and running water came.The remaining stones or gutter like stones can be spotted outside the ground floor or the first floor of old houses.
Français : Depuis au moins le XVIIe certaines cuisines étaient équipées d'éviers en pierre qui avaient une sortie d'eau sur l'extérieur. On peut encore voir ce qu'on appelle les pierres-à-évier qui font saillie sur les murs extérieurs des maisons. Les éviers ont disparu. On peut voir ces pierres-à-évier en rez-de-chaussée ou au premier étage d'une maison.
