Philip Kearny, Jr., (June 2, 1815 – September 1, 1862) was a United States Army officer, notably in the Mexican-American War and American Civil War. He was killed in action in the 1862 Battle of Chantilly. His body lay in an unmarked vault at Trinity Churchyard in New York City until 1912, when he was re-interred with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. A statue marking his grave was dedicated in 1914.
