The pesh-kabz is a type of Indo-Persian dagger worn in the front rather than on the side. Originally from Iran, it eventually spread to Indian, Afghanistan, Central Asia, and later South Asia during the Mughal era. The weapon is often curved but the Asian variant, known as peshkaj, is usually straight.
