Category:Perpetuum-Ebner turntables
Perpetuum-Ebner (PE) was a German producer of mass-market turntables (both finished devices and OEM supplies). The original Perpetuum - Schwarzwälder Federmotoren und Automatenwerke was founded in 1911 by Josef Steidinger - one of the two Steidinger brothers who had earlier founded the Gebruder Steidinger company - maker of Dual turntables. In 1936 the marriage of Hermine Steidinger and competitor Albert Ebner led to the merger of two companies into Perpetuum-Ebner. In 1971 PE and its foremost competitor - the same Gebruder Steidinger - de-facto joined the assets, with the latter clearly in the lead, and in two years PE completely merged into Dual [1]. The last PE-branded turntable was made in 1974. How's that for a soap opera?
