Italiano: Il termine pederastia deriva dal greco antico παιδ- paid-, "ragazzo", e ἐραστής erastès, "amante".
English: The term pederasty derives from the ancient greek παιδ- paid-, "boy", and ἐραστής erastes, "lover". In ancient Greece pederasty was a relationship between a man (erastes "lover") and a teenager (eromenos "beloved"), a relationship ritualised and socially coded.
In ancient Greek art it can be recognized very well the two figures, as the adult male is characterized by the beard while the boy has a youthful face and sometimes (especially in black-figure vases) he has long hair, a symbol of beauty. The pederastic courtship when it is not explicitly sexual, it is also recognized by the gifts offered by the man or received by the young man: typical are the hare and the cock. It has never represented sex: anal intercourses concern only women prostitutes within heterosexual; while oral sex between males occur only by Sileni. In the late production of red figures, very often, and wearily standardized is the courtship between two boys of same age, which are presented faced and fully clothed, talking.
