English: A peace sign on the left bank of the River Ouse in York, adjacent to Skeldergate Bridge and New Walk, that accompanied the planting of an oak tree on Wednesday 3rd February 2010 at New Walk by Skeldergate Bridge, an extension of the art project '7000 Oaks' by Joseph Beuys (1921-1986). There are two stones, one is a basalt stele brought from Germany, the other is local limestone. It bears the relief of a sun disc and a hare as a peace sign.
