Pantacles are a concept that was invented by the french occultist author Eliphas Levi in 1856,
via his two-volume compendium titled Dogma and Ritual of the High Magic.
Pantacles are usually conflated with pentacles, but they are not the same thing.
A pantacle is a symbol, usually a complex multi-part symbol, that symbolizes a doctrine.
