English: Panshanger, Hertfordshire. Formerly a large country house, the seat of William Cowper, 1st Earl Cowper and his descendents, surrounded by a park landscaped by Humphry Repton. The house was demolished in 1953–54 and the parkland is now owned by Lafarge (company), who extract sand and gravel from the site. However the orangery, nursery garden wall and stables survive, along with a number of other cottages and estate buildings, which are listed by English Heritage.
