Initially, the Packard TD was a truck with a payload of 3 tn. sh. that succeeded the TC in 1911. It lent its name for a series of trucks with payloads of 2-5 tn. sh.
Series manufactured c. 1911-1914 by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan. The truck got 4 cylinder, T-head engines.
The line included
- TD, 3 tn. sh., engine rated at 32.4 HP. Introduced in 1911.
- 2A or 2-A, 2 tn. sh., engine rated at 26.4 HP. Introduced in 1911.
- 2B or 2-B, 2 tn. sh., engine rated at 26.4 HP. Introduced in 1913; replaced 2A
- ATD, 3 tn. sh., engine rated at 25.6 HP. Introduced in 1912; possibly replaced TD.
- ATN, 3 tn. sh., engine rated at 32.4 HP. Introduced in 1912.
- 3A or 3-A, 3 tn. sh., engine rated at 25.6 HP. Introduced in 1913; replaced ATD.
- 5A or 5-A, 5 tn. sh., engine rated at 40 HP. Introduced in 1912
Models with an "A" in the designation are sometimes referred as the "A-series" which then can be seen as a technically very similar sub-serie of the TD line.
