The Packard Light Eight, also called the Packard 900 was a new and smaller entry level model introduced for 1932. It was added to the 9th series in January, 1932, and dropped when the series ended. Basically, it was a shortened Standard Eight, offered at a substantially lower price. It was a success, but hurt sales of the more profitable Standard Eight, and was therefore dropped at the end of production for the 9th series. Its successor was the 1933 Standard Eight 1000.
