English: The P.U.M.A. movement was a protest reaction by disgruntled supporters of Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign. Despite the candidate's endorsement of Barack Obama (who had been her competitor in the Democratic Party primaries) as the party nominee for the general election, some of her supporters formed the P.U.M.A. movement. Members of this movement vowed to refuse to vote for Obama. The PUMA acronym as originally coined stood for "Party Unity My Ass", but the PAC was registered as "People United Means Action," a backronym.
