[Gabriel-Joseph] Grenié a développé l'orgue expressif à partir des années 1790, qu'il a breveté et présenté à Paris en 1810. Il a ainsi été le premier à fabriquer un instrument à clavier utilisant exclusivement des anches libres. Cet instrument est à l'origine de l'fr:harmonium et de l'fr:accordéon[1].

    James Howard Richards. GRENIÉ, GABRIEL-JOSEPH (1756 OR 1757-1837). "French musical instrument maker and inventor of the orgue expressif, an early form of REED ORGAN. A native of Bordeaux, Grenié built and exhibited the orgue expressif in Paris in 1810. As early as 1790 he is said to have built a two-octave free-reed instrument."
