The busy Ordu Caddesi runs along the lower side of the raised platform on which the mosque stands. On a corner with a side street there is one gate. Further west there is another one, with on the left first a sebil and further left the exterior of a mausoleum for two sultans. Entering that gate one can turn right and visit the substructure of the mosque or turn left for the mausoleum. Or climb on to the platform.
