The Old Leeds School of Medicine, tower lookout room stands on top of the tower above the main entrance of the building. The tower itself is brick and stone, but the lookout room is a wooden structure, although the cupola is possibly metal. The wooden lower walls of the lookout room are modern wooden replacements but the windows, and the internal structure of the cupola, appear to be repaired originals. The lookout room has a door to the tower roof walk (a squeeze between the outside of the lookout room and the low castellations of the tower), but the door to the roof walk is now padlocked for safety reasons. Therefore the windows can no longer be cleaned. There is no public access to the tower lookout room.
