" On Sunday, November 4, The U.S. Army Orchestra gave the world premiere of Harold Van Heuvelen's Symphony No. 1. The composer, an Army veteran, composed the piece while serving during World War II. The work tells the story of America's greatest generation during a time of uncertainty and upheaval.  /  Van Heuvelen, now in his nineties, traveled from North Dakota to attend the premiere (nearly 70 years after the piece was completed) with members of his extended family.  /  Photos by SSG Chris Branagan, The U.S. Army Band Public Affairs. "
