English: Norwegian military steel combat helmet M31 ("Baltic Helmet" or "Baltik Hjalmar") manufactured in Norway by the Raufoss Ammunisjonsfabrikker plant, with a rampant M35 "Norwegian Lion" (Coat of arms/banner of arms of Norway) metal insignia on front. The design was taken from the Swedish M1926, but the Norwegian produced helmets differed from the Swedish helmets by having a very pronounced comb to the top and a steel liner band. The M26 was also delivered to the Norwegian Police with base in Sweden during the German occupation of Norway during World War Two, etc.

Steel Helmets of the World Wars (maplecreekmilitaria.com): Norwegian M31 Steel helmet was the helmet worn by Norwegian troops at the time of the Nazi invasion of Norway during World War II in 1940. It was initially manufactured in Sweden, but later produced in Norway by the Raufoss Ammunisjonsfabrikker company. The 1931 model closely resembles the Swedish M26 except that it has a small crest on the top of the helmet. There was a version of this helmet that had an oval badge with the Norwegian lion embossed on the front. During the German occupation period 1940–1945 many M31s were reissued to the Nasjonal Samling Politi, the Quisling collaborationist police.
