English: Norske folkeviser (English translation: "Norwegian Folk Ballads") is a Norwegian artist's book, hand-written and illustrated by Gerhard Munthe (1869–1929). The originals were drawn between 1918 and 1923, but were posthumously released as a limited edition of 200 copies in 1933, printed by Dreyers Grafiske Anstalt in Stavanger, Norway. New editions were published in 1943 and 1986.

The book presents the following Norwegian folk ballads (traditional medieval ballads):

  • Åsmund Frægdegjævar (Åsmund Fregdegjeva)
  • The Dance in the Mountain (Dansen i bergi)
  • The Lindworm (Lindarormen)
  • Hermod the Youthful
  • Lady Venil and Drembedros (Venill Fruva and Drembedrosi)
  • Steinfinn Fefinnsson
  • The Dream Poem (Draumkvedet)


Norsk bokmål: Norske folkeviser er en norsk kunstbok håndtekstet og illustrert av maleren og tegneren Gerhard Munthe (1869-1929). Originalillustrasjonene ble tegnet i perioden 1918–1923, men utgitt posthumt som bibliofilutgave i 200 eksemplarer i 1933, trykt ved Dreyers grafiske anstalt i Stavanger. Nye opplag kom på Dreyers forlag i Oslo i 1943 og i 1986.
