English: Nicholas Roosevelt (1715-1769), Colonial New York silversmith. Was related to Jacobus Roosevelt, ancestor of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Baptized at the Dutch Reformed Church of New York City, 6 February 1715. Married 5 June 1737 to Catherine Comfort, daughter of Gerardus and Catharine Hennejon at the DRC. Married for the second time, 24 November 1754, to Elizabeth Thurman, daughter of John Thurman and Elizabeth Wessels at the DRC. Three children from the first marriage: Catherine, Sarah, and Gerardus. Three children from the second marriage: Elizabeth (died young) Nicholas, and Elizabeth. Died of ill health in 1769.
