English: The New-York Spectator was a newspaper published in New York City. It was established as The Spectator in 1797 and was published under that name until 1804, when it became the New-York Spectator. New-York Spectator was published from 1804 to 1867, then became the New York Spectator and Weekly Commercial Advertiser until it ceased publication in 1876.
