Deutsch: Die Neue Dampfer-Companie (NDC, bekannt als Schwarze Dampferlinie) gründete der Kieler Reeder August Sartori gemeinsam mit Johann Schweffel IV (* 1825; † 1910) und der Familie Howaldt im Jahr 1887. 1938 fusionierte die NDC mit dem städtischen Eigenbetrieb Hafenrundfahrt AG (Harufag) und wurde 1939 in Kieler Verkehrsaktiengesellschaft (KVAG) umbenannt.
English: The New Steamer Company (NDC, known as the Black Steamer Line) was founded by the Kiel shipowner August Sartori together with Johann Schweffel IV (* 1825; † 1910) and the Howaldt family in 1887. In 1938, the NDC merged with the municipal company Hafenrundfahrt AG (Harufag) and was renamed Kieler Verkehrsaktiengesellschaft (KVAG) in 1939.
